“6:30am, Camera Ready, Ludington Beach” Those were my directives for my appearance in the indie movie
“Pirates of the North Coast.”
Frank Sollars, Dan’s uncle, is the writer/producer/director of this fictional film involving Ludington and the SS Badger. I landed a role in it. I play TV reporter Jessica Townsend.

I was in make-up, costume, and on the set (beach) at 6:30am. They shot my 2 scenes - both in 1 take! It was great fun.

The next day was the big finale party, set at the local watering hole. Shelley Sollars, the production manager, asked if I could create a party atmosphere. So another early morning, and I was at the bar with my crew setting up for the party scene. I guess I can now add
"Set Designer" to my resume!

Later that evening, for the party scene, I played the tambourine and sang back-up in a Jimmy Buffett cover band. Dan and I were also extras at the party.

Very late that night was the wrap party. It was great fun and a wild way to wind down our magnificent vacation.
Back to the campground, and on to our our last 2 days before home.
