About Us:

Dan is a recently retired television news editor and videographer.

Robin is a Kindergarten teacher (so, summers off).

Together they're holding down the family fort on Michigan's Southeast Coast.

Jake is a Motion Graphics artist living and working on the Lake Michigan side of the state.

Brock is a recent Communications/Writing/Theater grad, currently based in the Grand Rapids area.

We have always been a boating, camping, and travelling family. We are by no means wealthy, so we stretch the shoestring as far as we can. Our feeling is that we can't be sure about the future, so let's find a way to do it now.

We've begun to make video vlogs of some of our trips over the last couple of years: either all together, in pairs, or even individually. Occasionally we have a friend or family member along with us. We hope to post those in a YouTube channel in the near future.

In the meantime, we decided to create this blog in order to share Dan and Robin's Route 66 road trip.

Route 66

We plan to stay at many of the iconic Route 66 motels and hotels, but we also want to camp in some of the state and national parks along the way. We didn't want to tow our trusty old popup camper or drive a big unwieldy motorhome, so we bought this little 2003 Pleasure-Way Class B.

Look for our Michigan plate "RMBLERS"
