Well, we had other plans for today, but Lori & Peter said the Beartooth Pass was a MUST!  It is titled “All-American Road” and “the Most Beautiful Drive in America,” according to Charles Kuralt.  And boy, was it!

It is about 68 miles long and traverses the mountain range, meandering between Wyoming and Montana.  At its peak, it is almost 11,000 feet high.  We started in Cooke City, right outside YSNP then switchbacked all the way up and down and ended at Red Lodge, Montana

Some Highlights: `Gorgeous Scenery - mountains, pines, meandering rivers, waterfalls, lakes, and snow-topped mountains.

`Top of the World store `Dan & I climbed to the peak of the summit at almost 11,000 feet - higher than some of the snow!

`Mountain Goats - about 40!  Close to road, including some kids - I was super excited `Snowball fight and Snowman making (we were still wearing our shorts!)

-Summer Ski/Snowboard Camp Summit -Chipmunk Photobomb -Ended journey in Red Lodge, Montana - nice mountain town with shops and restaurant (one had several vegan farm-to-table choices) -Camped just outside Red Lodge

Tomorrow - eastward through Montana and maybe into North Dakota
