Due to early mornings, late nights, and no internet/phone services, this blog will be highlights of the last 4 days in Yellowstone National Park!

Day 1: OLD FAITHFUL GEYSER - waited about 45 minutes, great spot to watch - WOW!  Did not disappoint!  After, we checked out Old Faith Lodge, beautiful lobby fireplace, big porch.  Walked a couple of trails!

There are many geysers here, Beehive was good one, as well! Traffic jam caused by Elk Cows. Camped in West Yellowstone.

Day 2: Early morning - 6am - to beat the crowds! Goal today - South Loop Started in Madison - Lower Geyser Basin, then onto Midway Geyser Basin - great boardwalk, steaming geysers! Headed to West Thumb:  Abyss Pool & Fishing Cone, many hot springs and thermal features - Beautiful colors.

Mud Volcano boardwalk was blocked due to a bison invasion = Males are in rutting season, were very loud and took over the boardwalk- one got very close to Dan!

Sulphur Cauldron - yep, smelled like Sulphur - here was one lone bison, just hanging at the Cauldron!

Canyon Village - Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon! Upper & Lower Falls & Views beyond belief Hayden’s Valley - full of wildlife!  Bison abound Inspiration Point, Artist’s Point Camped in YSNP at Madison Campground

Day 3: Goal Today: Northern Loop Another early wake-up 6am! Norris Geyser Basin - WOW!   Steamboat Geyser (the world’s largest and tallest 300 -400 feet active geyser) Many thermal features like hot springs and geysers

Virginia Cascades - 60 foot cascading waterfall Headed north to Tower-Roosevelt Ate Lunch at Roosevelt Lodge Walked the Forces of the Northern Range boardwalk - so peaceful, smells of flora and pine were overwhelming, the silence was deafening

Mammoth Hot Springs - last part of the day - hot springs terraces where we walked the boardwalk amongst many hot springs

Roosevelt Arch at North Entrance or in our case, exit Visited my friend Lori and her husband Peter in Gardiner, MT. We camped in Gardiner.

Day 4: Back into park to see Lori one more time at Mammoth (her office) then toward Lamar Valley and the Northeast Entrance OMG - here we saw up-close many, many 4 legged residents of YSNP Elk, Black Bears, Black Bear Mama and 2 cubs Several traffic jams due to bison in road - 2 walked right along our rig!

We LOVED Yellowstone and could easily have spent many more days there.  Go, enjoy, explore, and live!
